Who the insurance is suitable for
This insurance is aimed at anyone who loves camping vacations – whether with their own or a rented motorhome, caravan, caravan, tent or similar accommodation.
The prerequisite is that the main time of the trip is spent on a campsite or a designated pitch for motorhomes.

Tariffs and sums insured – Calculation of the tariff:
With camping trip cancellation insurance, the rate calculation is based on the total price of all services booked for the trip (e.g. rental costs for accommodation, pitch fees, planned excursions, costs for arrival and departure, etc.).
Insured persons:
Up to 9 travelers can be insured under one contract, regardless of their relationship or age.
Sums insured:
Cancellation costs and travel interruption insurance: Up to the full value of the travel price, up to a maximum of €10,000.
Travel health insurance:
Unlimited cover.
Luggage and contents insurance:
Up to € 6,000 per trip, including sports equipment (outside the intended use).
Daily price/tariff for camping travel insurance:
Specially designed for groups of up to 9 people.

This includes, among other things, the reduction of the deductible in the comprehensive car insurance of the rental vehicle. With cover of up to €100 million per claim and up to €15 million per injured person in the event of personal injury, ADAC Autoversicherung AG offers comprehensive cover that significantly exceeds the statutory minimum cover.
In addition, caravan and motorhome insurance provides cover for all authorized drivers, the owner and the keeper of the vehicle. Caravan and motorhome insurance is characterized by an excellent price-performance ratio.
Overview of insurance options for your motorhome trip
When traveling with your motorhome, it is important to choose the right insurance cover. To help you keep track and understand the differences between the insurance options, we will explain them to you.
Motor vehicle liability insurance (compulsory in Germany):
This basic insurance covers damage that you or another insured person could cause to third parties with your caravan or motorhome. Optionally, you can extend your insurance cover with so-called driver protection and foreign damage cover.
Partial casco insurance:
In addition to third-party liability benefits, partial casco covers damage to your caravan or motorhome caused by theft, animal bites and collisions, glass breakage, fire or forces of nature such as hail and storms. There is additional cover for e-vehicles at no extra cost.
Fully comprehensive insurance:
This most comprehensive option also covers self-inflicted accidental damage, damage caused by gross negligence and willful damage due to vandalism, in addition to the benefits of third-party liability and partially comprehensive insurance. With the additional camper contents cover module, you can also insure movable contents and entertainment electronics in your motorhome.
Tips for renting a motorhome with the ADAC:
Minimum age:
To be able to rent most motorhomes, you must be at least 21 years old at the time of rental and have held a suitable driving license for 12 months.
Driver’s license:
The driver must present his original valid driver’s license at the time of handover.
ADAC club card:
When claiming member discounts, the valid ADAC club card issued to the main tenant must be presented on site for legitimization.
Security deposit:
A deposit must be paid directly to the rental company when collecting the vehicle.
The deposit for motorhomes is €1500, regardless of the vehicle selected.
Please inform yourself in good time at the rental station about the deposit options available there (cash / EC / credit cards).

The total rental price is calculated on the basis of the rental period, the selected vehicle model and any additional services such as additional insurance or equipment packages.
When you take delivery, you should carry out a thorough vehicle inspection together with one of our employees to document any previous damage. You will also receive an introduction to the motorhome's technical equipment.
